Cheryl was practicing all week with Alejandro. They did steps every night. They ended up practicing in his backyard since they could not use the studio. They twisted round and flicked, kicked and stepped to the music. The long cable with it's extension curled round the open door from the kitchen. The plug was indoors. They had to turn up the stereo because it was quieter outside since it was a bigger space so the sound just disappeared into it.
It was such fun and they were so tired that they just collapsed and fell asleep as soon as they got in. That's why they had to practice after tea.
Cheryl met up with Taylor in Taylor's room. They decided to go shopping in the proper tow shops. Cheryl had not been there before. She had not had a reason too. Taylor had spent her spare time there.
"Hello Taylor!" an old Cuban lady called, waving, while she water her plants outside her open fringe.
The lock just off. Her cat curled around her thick calf that was covered in tights. the cat purred, enjoying every moment of it. The women did not even seem to notice, she was so used to it.
Taylor smiled and waved, "Hello Taylor!" called a young man with a crate of vegetables filling a display in front of The Grocer's shop window.
She waved and grinned.
"Hi, Taylor!" called out a middle aged women filling the trough in front of her shop.
It was The Post Office. There were lots of sweets sitting in the window. The lollipops were fanned out. All different colours were there, red, orange, yellow, green, pink and purple. All the cats crowded round. Some jumping in the water and mewing in pain as they hit the water. Soggen, they tried to climb out. Meowing and their paws scratching their claws on the glazed, green pottery. They left scratching marks on it, turning and spinning in the water as more cats plunged in.
Some cats were leaning their heads over the side of the basin and lapping up the water by licking with their tongues. They purred, resplendent in their emphaticism, enjoying the pleasure of fresh, cool water on their dry tongues and brittle lips. The liquid filled them up with juiciness, plumping up their lips and turning their taste buds red and resplendent.
Taylor waved, patting the cats once each in turn. She helped the women pull the soggy ones out of the water. They furled their limbs about, singing in the horrible way cats can. Their claws were out trying to scratch Taylor and the middle-aged women but they could not manage it.
"Stupid creatures!" the women called them.
They entered The Post Office. They bought some stamps and postcards. Cheryl sucked on a lolly as Taylor payed. She had some red liquorice straws and red, tangy, sour, sugar covered, strawberry strips gripped in her hand.
