I have decided to move to New York because I have been offered a job as a photographer there by Vogue. It is so exciting! I will still try to do some free lance work. It is a great way of getting rid of all memories of Nathan. Roger says that he wants to come too. I need someone to halve the rent with but I was very surprised when he offered!
"But I thought you and Oscar were so - coupley!" i told him.
"Nah. We have just kind of got bored of each other!" he shrugged like he did not really care any more.
"Oh well, that's me got a flat mate then!" my eyes were all watery.
I could not believe what a good friend he was. Coming with me to keep me company. Giving up his strong relationship with Oscar. It was really for me, it was nothing to do with problems with Rog and Oscar.
"But what about your job?!"
"Oh, darling! There are plenty more jobs under the sun in New York! And New York, I mean..." he swayed his hand about, letting it fall limply forward, very gay!
"We have an apartment to share on the upper east-side," I told him as I was fishing out wine glasses for our meal.
My parents were out for the night at Dad's boss's big do so Rog and I had the place for ourselves. We were eating pasta and wine. I had pulled the TV and the tape player through from the living room and put them on the side cabinet so we could watch it while we were eating. It was Breakfast at Tiffany's, a great film.
"I love pesto!" he called uot very saucily.
"Oh, Roger!"
"It's orgasmic!"
"Don't be silly!" we both started cracking up laughing and fell over with giggles just as the main character in the film sadly searched for her cat gladly bumping into her man.
They found it together. I told my parents about the move. I think my other friends apart from Roger have already pretty much given up on talking to me which is great! At least I nowe know who my real friends are. I have one. Roger. My best friend.
